雲仙のお土産といえば「湯せんぺい」。温泉街の中心で唯一、一枚一枚手焼きで焼き上げている様子を身近で見られるのが「遠江屋本舗」です。地元民のみぞ知る、焼き上げた際に切り落とす「せんぺいの耳」は、独特の柔らかい歯ごたえが特徴で、無くなり次第終了の逸品です。
A traditional flavor graciously inherited
Yusempei represents “The Omiyage (souvenir)” of Unzen. At “Toutomiya Hompo” Store, situated in the center of the town, you can enjoy watching the process of each Usempei piece being toasted by hand. So called “Ears of Sempei” known to the locals, which are actually the edge cut off after toasting, is known to have a specific soft firmness and often goes sold-out due to its popularity.
